Bodies, Boundaries, & Beginnings: Early Childhood Foundations
In the workshop "Bodies, Boundaries, & Beginnings: Early Childhood Foundations of Sex Ed,” we explore practical ways parents can become "askable parents"—trusted sources of information and support for their children. Being an askable parent means creating an environment where your child feels safe asking questions, no matter how awkward or challenging the topic. Additionally, we’ll focus on intentional teaching techniques to build foundational skills in sexuality and relationship education that are developmentally appropriate. This includes introducing correct terminology for body parts, discussing personal boundaries, and helping children understand consent in everyday interactions. These early lessons lay the groundwork for healthy, respectful relationships and lifelong confidence in navigating conversations about their bodies and emotions.
